Role purpose :

  • Responsible for the effective, efficient and compliant management, planning, administration, delivery, communication, monitoring and evaluation of the SCHOOLS project, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and managed and implemented by British Council. The post-holder will achieve agreed objectives and tasks to deliver the projects successfully, meeting British Council corporate and client standards of compliance, and meeting the needs of all key stakeholders.

  • We opened in Algeria in 1962 and moved back office in British Embassy during the 1990s, re-opening with a greater public interface in 2006. The operation is very much focussed on the Education, and English and Exams SBUs, and delivers smaller arts and society projects.A Teaching Centre opened in April 2015 and has grown rapidly. Following the signing of an MOU between the UK and Algerian governments in 2014 our work supporting the reform agendas of the ministries of education and higher education, most notably in English, has increased. We are seen as a trusted partner and service provider to those wishing to access UK education, international qualifications and English language expertise.
  • Examinations work focuses on providing access to high quality UK qualifications to Algerian customers, thereby facilitating the building of relationships with our target audiences, and improving the employment prospects of young Algerians, whether at home or abroad.The NAGGAF team consists of four full time posts: Project Manager Schools, Assistant Project Manager and two Project Officers covering administration, finance and communications.

  • Providing a high level of professional knowledge, support and guidance to the project teams in the area of education project management in a busy working environment whilst ensuring British Council and client rules and procedures are followed  

 

Successful Candidates :

Suitable candidates should have:

Minimum/essential requirements:

  • Ability to work in English (written and spoken) to at least IELTS Band 6/CEFR B2
  • Fluency in French or Arabic to CEFR – C1
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant subject area
  • Proven ability to operate in an event driven environment where attention to detail and meeting deadlines under pressure are important for success.
  • Proven success in working with customers, clients and /or partners.
  • Proven track record in Finance and Administration.
  • Good knowledge of SAP.

Desirable requirements: 

  • Postgraduate qualification in Finance / Project management
  • Knowledge of main features of education system in UK and Algeria
  • Experience of professional educational activities / projects in Algeria.

 

 Benefits Package :

  • Pay Band  G : Gross Salary 125,000.00 DZD (Before tax and social security deductions)
  • Transportation allowance : 2,000.00 DZD
  • Food Allowance: 5,000.00 DZD
