Role purpose:

The British Council is looking for a Business Development/ Project Officer to be based in Algiers.

  •  You will provide efficient and effective administration and logistical support to the Business Development/Project Managers in English & Education and Arts & Society in Algeria for the pursuit and delivery of local and regional full cost recovery (FCR), grant and partnership funded (GPF) projects. 
  • You will execute duties in compliance with British Council procedures and standards, to meet stakeholder expectations, and to build excellent relationships with partners, consultants and suppliers.
  • You need to have excellent organisational skills and mindset, able to plan your work and achieve results quickly and efficiently.
  • You need to have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role with a proven track record in general office and Administration work and/or Knowledge of main features of education systems in the UK and Algeria.     
  • Would be desirable to have experience of professional educational activities and /or projects in Algeria and knowledge of SAP.
  • You will have strong communication and IT skills. You will need to be proficient in English with at least a B2, and fluent in French or/and Arabic C level.    . l
