The British Council is looking for a Business Development Project Manager Art & Society to work in our centre based in Algiers.

Job Purpose:

  • As the Business Development Project Manager Art & Society you will have to l lead on business pursuit, development and management in the SBU sectors of Art & Society to secure full cost recovery (FCR) projects; and to manage the delivery of grant funded (GPF) British Council project portfolios in these sectors.
  • You will have to identify business opportunities, establish leads, secure business intelligence including donor/sponsor funding cycles, establish and maintain a database of potential funders/partners, and provide local onsite support for Education & English income generation efforts in Algeria (as an individual country, or part of a Maghreb multi-country opportunity) on a full cost recovery and/or partnership basis, including the local response to, and fulfilment of, the Contract Approval Process of the British Council (CAP).  
  • You will have to manage the planning and delivery of the Art & Society GPF programme portfolio in Algeria within the allocated budget and according to British Council project management and delivery standards. 
  • You will be highly motivated and able to work on your own initiative as well as being part of the team in Algeria and a wider regional team in MENA and in the UK.
  • You will have excellent communication, organisational and planning skills and be able to set up priorities at your work and achieve results quickly and efficiently and respecting deadlines and reporting schedules.

 

Requirements:

  • You will also have good IT skills. You will speak and write well in French C1 and English C1 (IELTS 6), and preferably in Arabic too.
  • You will report to the Country Director and Assistant Director Programmes
  •   This post will suit someone with business development/Management experience of two years minimum and or a Master`s degree in business administration, Management or related field.
