Job purpose:  
As Facilities Manager and Safety, Security, Health and Environmental Officer (SHE Officer) for Roche Algeria, you will be responsible for ensuring and advising on all SHE related topics in line with the Group SHE requirements with the applicable law and ensure our business’s accommodation is problem-free and safe so that employees can work under the best conditions:
  • Lead and develop local SHE strategy in line with group strategy .
  • Committee Execute SHE strategy through task specific teams.
  • Crisis management: critically evaluate risks including SHE and Business Continuity and ensure preventive and corrective actions are in place.
  • Provide regular evidence of continuous improvement to company standards.
  • Collaborate with HR to sustain SHE culture.
  • Report SHE KPIs and audit SOPs adequately controlled.
  • Proactive and immediate actions taken for site maintenance.
  • Ensure aligned SHE culture in Roche Algeria (Pharma & Diagnostics divisions).
  • Employees’ response on concerns in relation to SHE matters.
  • Training employees on all SHE related topics and requirements.
  • Supporting the organization for compliance with local legal regulations and with Roche SHE provisions (gap analysis; implementation of measures to close the gaps).
  • Accompanying relevant routine inspections and co-operate with the General Manager and HR Head on all SHE matters.
  • Establishing and maintaining the Roche internal Local Emergency Management (LEM) system.
  • Keeping all SHE related inventory and handbook up to date.
  • Ensuring that all legally required documents and permits are available.
  • Monitors and assesses the local security exposure and proposes the necessary preventive measures.
  • Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards.
  • Inspect buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations.
  • Review utilities consumption.
  • Supervise all staff facilities (external contractors).
  • Control activities like parking space allocation, waste disposal, building security etc.
  • Allocate office space according to needs.

  • University degree 
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the Pharmaceutical industry is an asset
  • Minimum three (3) years experience working in related field or industry
  • Experience in Site security and SHE Management
  • Team spirit
  • Good listening and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure. Sense of urgency, multiple tasking
  • Good communication and writing skills
  • Fluent in English and French
