Commercial Affairs & Strategy Director – Novo Nordisk Algeria :

  • Maghreb, with Algeria, is representing one of the fastest growing and most dynamic business areas in Novo Nordisk. It is part of region AAMEO (Africa, Asia, Middle East & Oceania) and is consisting of 4 countries; Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia and Libya.

 

About the department :

  • Novo Nordisk (NN) Maghreb business consists of both private and public markets (tender, partially or fully reimbursed segments). Novo Nordisk Algeria (and Maghreb) is headquartered in Algiers and include a team of very engaged people all dedicated to support the affiliate outperforming competition and overcoming business challenges. The CA&S Director will lead a team of approximately 12 persons and will interact regularly with local head of department in Sales, Medical Affairs, Patient Access & Governmental Affairs, Regulatory, Industrial Affairs, Quality, Compliance and Legal, P&O, Finance & Commercial IT, as well as with Region AAMEO & IO CA & S teams.

 

The job :

  • As Commercial Affairs & Strategy Director you are member of the management team in Algeria. You will be responsible for developing strategies in alignment with business priorities and an advisor to the Corporate Vice President on strategies and marketing activities and on influencing P&L related commercial decisions. You will implement initiatives to accelerate market share expansion, as well as volume growth. You will be responsible for guiding management in strategic negotiations with healthcare authorities relating to market access and formulation and implementation of ambitious medium and long term strategies for the development of Novo Nordisk business and organisational competencies. You will be a key driver in establishing the affiliate digital health strategy.
  • You will play an active role in organizational leadership promoting our corporate values and the Novo Nordisk Way. You will foster close relationships with relevant external parties, authorities, industry, customers and suppliers to enhance our corporate image and make Novo Nordisk the preferred business partner. You will also provide support to the on-going development of employees and organization in line with present and future business needs, thereby ensuring the employability and full utilization of individual potential.

 

 Qualifications :

  • We are looking for a candidate with a University degree in business, healthcare science, marketing or economics and a minimum of 10 years’ experience in leadership positions working in the multi-national pharmaceutical industry or other multinational healthcare industries, of which 5 years’ experience is in sales, marketing, business development or market access and 5 years’ experience in a position leading manager.
  • The following competencies complement you for the profile, lıke setting direction & strategy, focussed on what matters, Business & industry understanding and communicating with impact. You have a proven track record to act strategically in accordance with the growth potential of the region and secure a high performing team and have sound cultural understanding and a flexible attitude. You are experienced in managing other managers. You have forceful communication and negotiation skills, are able to take initiative, work independently and fluent in both written and spoken French and English. Arabic language is not mandatory, but will be considered as an asset.
