Job purpose:

  • Ericsson is seeking Operations Senior Engineer to support the Digital Telco BSS Platforms with core responsibilities as following:
  • Operations Senior Engineer shall perform analysis and troubleshooting of trouble tickets (TT), escalated either from either SD (Service Desk) or other Operations Support teams. 
  • Operations Senior Engineer shall manage and execute the proactive and reactive routines in Service Delivery, where ever required shall also develop these routines for successful DBSS delivery for different platforms
  • Operations Senior Engineer shall coordinate with the Application Development team whenever required for the implementation of the change requests and business configurations into the production environment impacting multiple systems
  • Operations Senior Engineer shall identify and highlight the requirement to have the development of scripts and routines for the activities where repeated manual interventions is required in service delivery. Engineers are also expected to automate the manual activities wherever possible
  • Operations Senior Engineer shall provide necessary inputs in the SLA and KPI improvements initiatives planning and overall implementation of the same as well 
  • Operations Senior Engineer shall develop a collaboration with Operations and ADM teams for seamless flow of communication and information exchange w.r.t. to operations delivery
  • Provide inputs for the development of a technical solution in coordination with the Solution Architects and any other team members for any project requirements
  • Operations Senior Engineers shall provide necessary inputs and develop procedures, processes and documentation for the teams to follow during operations delivery w.r.t systems managed

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Operations Senior Engineers shall act as a Single Point of Contact ("SPOC") to SD (Service Desk) or Operations Engineers when contacted to handle trouble tickets for problems reported by Telecom Operator’s customers on Telco BSS solution components. 
  • The candidate should also have Operator’s possess (ITIL, eTOM) knowledge and hands on experience as technical support engineer.
  • Know and follow ITIL Service Operation processes: Event Management, Access Management, Request Fulfillment, Problem Management, Incident Management.
  • Operations Senior Engineers shall perform analysis and troubleshooting, escalate unresolved problems to Level 3 (R&D), track progress of trouble tickets (TT) resolution and ensure restoration and resolution within SLA. 
  • Operations Senior Engineers shall develop high quality documentation for the different changes or knowledge management
  • Operations Senior Engineers shall perform the configuration on the Digital BSS platforms
  • Core responsibilities also include maintaining the north bound and south bound interfaces and the data consistency within the system
  • Ensure the ITIL principles in Service Delivery are followed
  • Perfect troubleshooting and analytical skills, ability to “get things done”

  • Scripting knowledge required
  • Linux skills, scripting 
  • Calm, responsible, initiative, self-organized, eager to learn
  • Good written and oral English (upper intermediate)

Skills:

  • 4-6 years’ experience as Support Engineer or Telecom Systems Engineer
  • Demonstrated experience across BSS and OSS 
  • Experience with Mobile Networks, GSM, WCDMCA, LTE – as a plus 
  • Experience with NW protocols like TCP/IP; ss7/map/cap/smpp – as a plus

Education:

  • University degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science or equivalent experience in a related discipline
