Primary Purpose
The Health, Security & Primary PurposeEnvironment Manager will identify, develop, implement, and manage H&S (health and safety) programs and initiatives consistent with the company’s business plans and in compliance with country, local, and Volvo requirements. This role defines and maintains cross-functional relationships in order to engage and drive the organization’s Safety, Security, Health, Environment, and Wellbeing initiatives. This position will report directly to the Director of Human Resources & Safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
- Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
- Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
- Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
- Promote to and engage all colleagues in ensuring the health and safety of each other
- Actively work with implementing and maintaining the Volvo Group Safety (and environment) Directives
- Monthly reporting of relevant business review statistics i.e., Serious Incident Fatality (SIF), Lost Time Accident Rate (LTAR), Environmental KPI’s, etc.
- Participate in relevant global and local networks
- Provide assistance and advice to the business on Safety, Health, Environment, and Wellbeing issues in order to make recommendations to management
- Participate in and guide colleagues in risk assessments, incident investigations, Kaizens, SMATS and EWOs
- Assist in undertaking compliance reviews, risk assessments and other safety activities to support Safety and Environmental management in accordance with HSE legislation, ISO certification and Volvo Group values
- Other duties as required
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor or Master degree in EHS
- 5+ years in industrial or manufacturing EHS management experience
- Deep understanding of legal environmental health and safety guidelines
- Risk assessment and audit processes and facilitation
- Initiative and personal drive
- Excellent organizational and motivational skills
- Strong personal credibility, integrity and creativity.
- Proficiency in the English language is required.
