Principal Accountabilities

Manage and co-ordinates activities to:

  • Prepare and deliver accurate financial information (Budgets, Forecasts and Actual results), in line with group accounting principles. Analyse variances and financial modelling to accurately reflect the impact of proposed strategies on the operating results of the business and to support informed business decisions
  • Support and/or manage as appropriate all aspects of local financial environment, including cost centre control.
  • Prepare statutory accounts & reports. Manage the statutory accounts preparation and completion process in line with governance and reporting calendar. Perform detailed review of transactions and assess whether any issues exist for the external reporting of information
  • Identify, assess and, where appropriate implement efficiency improvements
  • Track action plan and support/lead cross functional teams dealing with control navigator initiatives and risk
  • Liaise with FSSC to ensure delivery of information is on-time in full (OTIF)
  • If required; identify and initiate appropriate corrective action to prevent or address significant accounting issues
  • Prepare cash flow forecasting
  • Comply with local laws and regulations (including tax, minority interests, external regulatory reporting)
  • Act as business partner with other HR, IT, CORA and Legal
  • Support all internal stakeholders as required
  • Full involvement with external audit as required for areas of responsibility

Essential requirements:

  • University Degree educated (Master or equivalent) with professional accountancy qualification equivalent (CA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA) in progress / qualified
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment, a big four experience will be a plus.
  • A thorough understanding and knowledge of relevant finance tools and systems, specifically SAP/ BI / BPC
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • A good understanding of other functional areas, e.g. operations and marketing would be an advantage
  • An ability to work effectively with all levels of staff within the company and external parties
  • Ability to handle large volumes of information and present it in an accurate and relevant format.
  • Rational decision making and problem solving ability is essential
  • Ability to work under pressure and keep to tight deadlines.
  • Fluent English is a must
  • In a regular situation with military obligations
