British American Tobacco Algeria is looking for a professional to join our team in Algiers as a Business Development Manager. The purpose of the role will imply leading the development of consumer and customer plans in key geographies and strategic trade clusters in line with Marketing Strategy and ensure that trade programmes meet business objectives and fulfil consumer needs and expectations. The role holder will also lead the development of touchpoints infrastructure and recommend the relevant set for the brand and trade programmes and will define an optimum Trade Coverage Plan (Route to Market) to ensure the right portfolio deployment. The Business Development Manager will also lead the Learning & Development agenda to improve functional capabilities within the Marketing Team.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Lead the development and guarantee the right implementation of 121 Brand Activations at different trade channels to effective execute portfolio strategy
  • Lead the development of Trade Programs (B2B Activities) in key strategic outlets and trade clusters to drive the marketing strategy at retail level
  • Ensure Total Customer Investment (TCI) strategy is implemented in line with Company’s Objectives (bonus, promotions, discounts, etc.)
  • Develop the Touchpoint infrastructure inside the point of sales to build awareness of key strategic initiatives in the market (merchandising, instore hardware, non-branded materials, planogram, etc.)
  • Lead the development of an optimum Route to Market and Trade Coverage Plan that ensures the most effective and efficient distribution structure
  • Lead the development of the Learning and Development Training agenda for the Marketing Team
  • Develop and implement of core business support functions in terms of sales IT applications, administrative process and project management
  • Assess business performance of BAT and Competitors within key strategic trade channels to improve the effectiveness of trade and brand programs
  • Ensure Trade Marketing and Distribution staff is well trained and motivated in order to be superior than competition in both core and added value services
  • Guarantee a sustainable talent pipeline to fulfil key management positions in Trade Marketing and Distribution team
  • Manage Business Development budget, including trade specific programs, to ensure the right resources investment
  • Ensure TM&D works in accordance to BAT’s International Marketing Standards and all Corporate Guidelines
  • Manage Route to Market cost structure to guarantee the most effective and efficient use of resources
  • Guarantee consistent execution of Trade Marketing and Distribution fundamentals (Availability, Visibility, Product Quality and Price) by the TM&D team
  • Support Head of Trade and Regional Sales Managers in developing trade programmes to meet objectives within the Regions
  • Support the Marketing Manager in executing the brand activations at the Point of Sales to generate the awareness and trial rates as per agreed for each brand and cycle
  • Work in conjunction with the Area Business Development Team to align and agree on specific objectives and deliverable
  • Gather/ generate innovative ideas for enhancing trade programmes and develop innovative approaches for trade clusters
  • Identify opportunities to optimise and improve TM&D systems and processes to drive productivity and/or growth
  • Drive efficiency on secondary supply chain function to continuously improve distribution model

 

Essential requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years experience in Trade Marketing, Sales, Brand Marketing
  • A relevant Bachelor Degree - Marketing
  • Good English language skills
  • Excellent leadership skills and previous experience in managing teams
